About Us
Dr. Spiegel is a member of both the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery and the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Boston University Medical Center. While the largest component of his practice is plastic surgery and more specifically, facial feminization surgery; he also sees patients with a wide number of different conditions, including sleeping and snoring problems, head and neck cancer and general head and neck issues like tonsil or sinus problems. All of his surgeries are performed exclusively at the Boston Medical Center.
On average, Dr. Spiegel performs roughly two-four feminization surgeries weekly. Since 2004, he has performed over 300 feminization surgeries for patients from all over the United States and the world. These surgeries include full reconstruction of the forehead, nose and mandible as well as soft tissue work like dermal fat augmentation, lip lift or facelift. Surgery is performed on Tuesday and Thursday and Dr. Spiegel visits with patients on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
In addition to his busy surgical and clinical schedule, Dr. Spiegel is an active academic member of Boston University. He is involved in several different research programs, lectures and advises medical students and residents at BU, Tufts and Harvard and holds many committee seats within Boston University Medical Center.

Leslie Winter, MD is the division of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellow. She works exclusively with Dr. Spiegel and assists with patients pre-operatively, during surgery, and post-operatively. She completed her residency in the Department of Otolaryngology--Head and Neck Surgery in June 2009 and decided to stay for an additional year of training with Dr. Spiegel. She has been a part of the department since 2003.
Kelly Bennett is the practice coordinator for the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery. She has years of experience in the plastic surgery field and with feminization surgery. She has been part of Dr. Spiegel's practice since August 2005.
Ivy Solis is the practice assistant and also has extensive experience within the plastic surgery field. She joined Dr. Spiegel's team in April 2008.
